The man who punched and killed a 26 year old at the Silver Sands Tavern has been sentenced.
The man who fatally punched a another man at the Silver Sands Tavern has been jailed for seven years, but with time already served and parole, he could be out in four, Fairfax reports.
Jake Raymond Mosley struck Jason Goodwin at the pub around 4pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
Mosley pleased guilty to Manslaughter in May, and was today sentenced to 7 years jail time.
The men did not know one another, but were playing pool before the attack happened.
A sudden unprovoked strike from 28 year old Mosley left 27 year old Goodwin on the floor.
Mr Goodwin died at Royal Perth Hospital a week after the attack after he failed to regain consciousness, the cause of death was ruled as traumatic brain injury.
"The deceased must have been blindsided," Justice Joseph McGrath said.
The parents of Jason Goodwin have been campaigning for harsher penalties for people convicted of one punch attacks.
Mr Mosley's sentencing comes days after the McGowan Government said they would be keen to re-examine the current penalties faced by one punch attackers.
There have been 10 coward punch attacks reported in WA this year.
