A South West police officer has been charged after allegedly crashing a car then later reporting it stolen.
The female constable was off-duty when she was allegedly involved in a crash on Bussell Highway near Peel Terrace in Busselton on July 7.
She then allegedly reported the car stolen before attempting to make an insurance claim.
The officer has been charged with creating false belief and attempting to defraud or deceit.
She will appear before the Busselton Magistrates Court today and has been stood down from operational duties.
