60 per cent of Peel residents in the Federal electorate of Canning have voted 'yes' to legalising same sex marriage.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics announced the results of the postal survey this morning while also providing a breakdown of all electorates.
The electorate of Canning taking in Mandurah, Serpentine-Jarrahdale, Waroona and Pinjarra was below the WA Yes result of 63.7 per cent.
The final count for the seat held by Liberal MP Andrew Hastie was 48,486 (60 per cent) in support of same sex marriage.
32,019 responses voted No (40 per cent).
Canning recorded a 78 per cent response rate with a total of 80,719 people returning their survey.
Further south in the Federal seat of Forrest taking in Harvey, Dardanup, Donnybrook and Bunbury, 63.8 per cent voted Yes.
But it was the electorate of Brand - City of Rockingham and Kwinana - that recorded the highest Yes result in the region of 67 per cent.
