Police are conducting extensive patrols of Serpentine Falls to locate thieves who've been targeting parked cars while people go walking.
Mundijong police are urging people to remove all valuable items from their vehicles following a spate of thefts in the Serpentine Falls area including from cars parked at the cafe.
A number of purses, wallets, phones, laptops and credit cards have been stolen since Saturday, November 4.
Senior Sergeant Daryl Brandis said there have been 7 offences in 4 days.
"One person had $2,000 worth of stuff stolen because they left it in their car.
"The thieves are hiding nearby or watching people and when they walk off they look into their car to see if there is something worth stealing.
"You should go to these places with a minimal amount and leave everything else at home, so just take your water, keys, wallet and phone with you."
"It's really terrible because people are just out in this fine weather having a great day."
Police are hoping to get some fingerprints and CCTV to track down the offenders.
