Nearly one in four people enrolled to vote in Rockingham have already cast their vote for the upcoming by-election.
In the week since early voting opened, 5096 people have voted at one of the two early voting centres in Rockingham and Perth City, while a further 2451 have returned votes via post.
“It’s great to see people are choosing a voting option that works for them,” Electoral Commissioner Robert Kennedy said.
“Applications for postal voting are open until 26 July; you can vote early at the early voting centre on Commodore Drive, Rockingham or at the WA Electoral Commission office in Perth city; or you can vote at a polling place on election day.
“Early voting is also available at seven interstate locations while mobile polling is being held at some local aged care facilities and retirement communities.
“You don’t need a special reason to vote early or by post but remember, voting is compulsory for anyone enrolled in the Rockingham electoral district.”
