Police have charged two men for allegedly assaulting an older couple in the backyard of their Oakford home.
Detectives arrested the pair separately this week and believe them to be responsible for basing a 71 year old man and his 64 year old wife in their backyard in February.
It's alleged one of the men climbed over the gate and let the second into the yard, before they viciously attacked the couple, leaving the man with spinal and skull fractures.
A 32 year old man was arrested on Tuesday, 29 May 2018, in relation to an unrelated assault matter and was further charged yesterday in relation to the Oakford attack.
The second man, a 38 year old from Canning Vale, was arrested yesterday during a search that uncovered firearms, ammunition and drugs. He has since been charged in relation to those items and the Oakford incident.
Both men will appear in court on grievous bodily harm and aggravated assault charges along with a string of others relating to separate offences.
