WATCH: Lucky escape from crash in state's north

PIC: File

A motorist has captured the moment a car collided head-on with mini bus on Indian Ocean Drive.

It's almost a mystery there were no serious injuries following a chilling head-on collision between two vehicles on Western Australia's roads last week.

Authorities said on Tuesday September 25 around 4.15pm a 26-year-old woman driving a Toyota Corolla was travelling north on Indian Ocean Drive in Nilgen attempted to overtake a camper van, at the same time a Mitsubishi mini bus was approaching in the opposite direction.

The Toyota can be seen swerving across both lanes trying to avoid hitting either vehicles, but collided with the front passenger side of the mini bus.

The RAC Rescue Helicopter and ambulances were deployed to the area, around 500m north of Ocean Place near Lancelin.

The 26-year-old and her two passengers in their 50s received minor injuries. There were also no minor injuries, just some bumps on the head, to the 10 passengers on board the mini bus.

Police said alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash, but it was simply a case of the wrong decision at the wrong time.
