A 40-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal crash north of Perth.
The woman was allegedly driving a Holden Commodore on the Brand Highway in Cataby on Saturday morning when she crossed to the wrong side of the road colliding with a truck and a Mazda travelling in the opposite direction.
Both drivers were not seriously injured.
The rear passenger of the Commodore, a 41-year-old Karloo man, died at the scene.
Two boys, aged four and ten who were also passengers in the Commodore received minor injuries.
The woman allegedly exited the Commodore after the crash and stole a Nissan Navara towing a caravan from a bystander that had stopped to help.
She then travelled to a farm near Badgingarra (approximately 40km away) where she was located by police and taken into custody.
The Karloo woman has been charged with failing to stop and ensure assistance after an incident occasioning death and failing to report an incident occasioning death or grievous bodily harm.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and her charges may be upgraded.
