The annual Alcoa Children's Festival is set to return to Calista Oval next weekend, Saturday, March 28.
About 20,000 people are expected to attend the fun-filled event which includes a 12-metre high dream swinger ride, live stage performances, face painting and craft workshops, animal encounters, science experiments and circus workshops.
Mayor Peter Feasey said it was not a ticketed event, but children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

“I encourage families to explore educational stalls and hands-on activities for little ones, and bring pocket money to support local young creators at the Youth Market Stalls," Mayor Feasey said.
“There will be a great range of food trucks on site to also buy treats to keep the family fuelled for all the fun.
“This year, the festival has moved from a morning timeslot to the afternoon to help avoid the hottest part of the day and create a more comfortable experience for families and we are so grateful to sponsors Alcoa and Lotterywest for making this highlight of the year possible.
“If you live locally, why not ride your bike to the event where we will have extra bike racks available and a bike mechanic who can undertake a basic maintenance check on while you are at the event.
“Follow us on Facebook for updates and all the latest event details—your one-stop spot for all things Alcoa Children’s Festival,” he said.
