Charges laid over fatal West Coolup crash

A 54-year-old man has been charged over a fatal crash in West Coolup, south of Mandurah.

The man was allegedly driving a white and black Misubishi tray top on the Forrest Highway about 11.10am on Saturday, May 23 when he collided with a person who was standing outside a gold Mitsubishi Lancer which was in the emergency lane.

The 63-year-old man, who was hit, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of Mitsubishi tray top has been charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning death.

He is due to appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on June 24.
