City of Mandurah to host blessing of the roads ceremony

With the Easter long weekend approaching and many of us planning to travel, we’re being reminded to take care on the roads.

The City of Mandurah is once again joining forces with RoadWise to promote the Blessing of the Roads campaign, focussing on working together to achieve the long-term vision of zero fatalities or serious injuries.

City of Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams said this important campaign is a reminder that we should not accept that anyone should die or be seriously injured on our roads.

“Easter is one of the peak holiday periods for road travel, so it is important to take time to think about road safety and the impact it can have on families, friends and communities.

“I’m urging our community to plan ahead, don’t drive tired or distracted to ensure we all have a happy and safe journey.

“It is also important to recognise and thank our emergency services, local police and volunteers for helping to make our roads safer,” Mr Williams said.

The Blessing of the Roads Ceremony will take place at Christ’s Church Anglican Parish of Mandurah on Sunday, 14 April at 9:30am.
