Tourism and hospitality business owners and professionals across the Rockingham community are being encouraged to attend the Deep Dive Workshop Wednesday, June 2.

Jointly presented by the City of Rockingham and Tourism WA, the workshop will provide insight into the creation of Western Australia’s new shared tourism story The Spirit of Adventure.

Businesses will be able to learn more about the new tourism story, before an interactive workshop will give local operators the chance to shape the State’s tourism brand with their own unique story for Rockingham.

A brief presentation by the City’s Economic Development and Tourism team will follow the workshop, with networking opportunities to close out the event.

Mayor Barry Sammels said it was important for tourism and hospitality operators in the City of Rockingham to have their say in shaping the overall tourism brand for WA.

“Our City is known as the place where the coast comes to life and as a premium tourist destination in WA, Rockingham has a significant part to play in developing The Spirit of Adventure tourism story,” He said.

“The City’s Tourist Destination Strategy 2019 – 2024 sets out the overall vision for tourism in our region.

"It is beneficial for Rockingham’s brand to be aligned with the overarching message of the tourism brand in WA, which is why this workshop is a great opportunity for the people who run local businesses in the sector to show Tourism WA how Rockingham has a part to play in the State’s story.”

Registrations for the Deep Dive Workshop are due by Wednesday 19 May.
