Cold Case detectives investigating the disappearance of a young woman 20-years-ago are digging up a West Perth backyard in search for clues.
Lisa Brown went missing on November 10, 1998.
She was last seen by her boyfriend, walking down Brisbane Street near Palmerston Street in Northbridge.
Police believe the mother-of-two, who was a sex worker, was murdered.
Her body has never been found.
Det-Insp Lesa Brittain, from the cold case serious crime squad, said they had recently received fresh information which led them to dig up the backyard of the West Perth property.
“At the moment we’re excavating the rear of the premises… we’re looking for items of interest and I can’t elaborate any further on that at this stage,” Det-Insp. Brittain said.
Det-Insp Brittain said the current owners of the Carr Street home are in no way linked to Ms Brown or her disappearance, bur the people who lived at the home at the time she went missing were "associated" with her.
“There is a reward of $250,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of anyone involved in the disappearance of Lisa Brown,” she said.
