A 22-year-old Collie man has been charged over an alleged assault on a 59-year-old woman.
The victim was sitting at a grassed area near a surf lifesaving club along Marina Parade in Cottesloe on Tuesday October 16 when a man approached her asking for a cigarette.
The woman said no to the man and he walked away before a second man approached her and apologised.
She was then punched by one of the men before they stole her bag and phone.
The woman received serious facial injuries and was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
A 22-year-old Collie man has been charged with aggravated robbery and grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear in the Bunbury Magistrates Court today.
