Surfers are flocking to the Southwest in anticipation of cyclonic swells caused by Tropical Cyclone Marcus as the system heads south down the WA coast.
Sunday is currently set to bring the best conditions, but surfers are making their way down early in a bid not to miss the event.
The combination of offshore wind and north westerly swells is tipped to bring near perfect conditions with early reports suggesting Margaret River and Yallingup will hit 3 metres later this afternoon.
The category five system is currently sitting north of the Exmouth coast and is expected to track south as it downgrades following a similar path to 2011’s Cyclone Bianca.

Locals are encouraging only experienced surfers to hit the waves this weekend with people flocking from all over to check out the rare cyclonic swell.
