The community are invited to attend Mandurah's World Cleanup Day event on Saturday September 21.
Hosted by Coastal Waste Warriors, the cleanup will take place along the Dawesville Cut from 9am to 11am.
This is the third event at this location, with fishing line in the top five items picked up.
Last week, a young Mandurah dolphin died as a result of fishing line entanglement - his third time having line caught on his dorsal fin this year.
The Coastal Waste Warriors said on a Facebook post everyone is encouraged to attend the event.
"It's time to get back to this area to make a difference and spread awareness to our wider community, that littering is NOT OK as this is having a devastating effect on our marine life - we are seeing this first hand," the post read.
"Please be SunSmart, bring your filled reusable water bottle and BYO gloves if possible."
The meeting point for the cleanup is at the Port Bouvard Marina car park.
