A 25-year-old Mandurah man has died after hitting a mountain while wingsuit base jumping in northern Italy.
Ben Dummett was free-falling alongside a mountain when the wind dropped and he slammed into a ridge on Monday in Trentino.
Mr Dummett’s father Simon who has travelled to Italy to bring his son’s body home has told Seven West Media his amazing boy had died doing what he loved the most.
“The chance of getting that phone call in the middle of the night was always a very real thing and unfortunately it did happen."
Ben was known as an adventurous daredevil who had done more than 300 BASE jumps and 900 skydives.
His colleagues at Bouvard Marine in Mandurah have paid tribute to Ben and said he will be dearly missed.
