One man has died after being shot by Police in Wannanup.
Early this morning officers from South Metro Response were patrolling in Wannanup area following reports of a man acting suspiciously in the area.
At around 12:20am, Police located a man armed with a knife in Rod Court.
The man advanced towards an officer, ignoring requests to drop the knife. Officers discharged their tasers and when these proved ineffective, discharged a firearm.
Police administered CPR on the man at the scene, before St John Ambulance took the male to Peel Health Campus.
The male later passed away in hospital.
Detectives from the Homicide Squad and Internal Affairs Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
