WA Police have confirmed they have received four reports of strawberries containing needles.
On Monday, a man from York claimed he found a needle in his sink after preparing strawberries for his family.
In a second case, a 10-year-old girl reportedly found a needle in a strawberry she had cut open which was purchased in Kelmscott.
Police have since received two more reports of strawberries containing needles from the suburbs of Spearwood and Bull Creek.
Members of the public are encouraged to be cautious in handling strawberries and report any discoveries to local police, or by calling 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The Department of Health advises the public you can still purchase and eat locally grown strawberries but, in light of recent events, you should cut them before eating.
