Two police officers have been assaulted, one seriously, after attending a youth disturbance in Lakelands and Madora Bay overnight.
Officers were called to Eleanore Drive in Madora Bay around 7pm on Saturday night after reports a large number of youths were acting disorderly, smashing bottles and were seen with eskies containing alcohol.
Several police vehicles attended and dispersed the youths.
Shortly after 9pm, the remaining youths moved on to Catalina Drive and to a house on Cohen Vista in Lakelands.
They allegedly became violent towards police, before a Sergeant from Mandurah Police was hit in the back of the head by a teenager, concussing him.
A Senior Constable was also allegedly hit in the head while dealing with the youths and received minor bruising.
Officers arrested two 17-year-old boys, while the remaining youths left the area.
The Sergeant was taken to Peel Health Campus by ambulance after sustaining serious concussion and soreness to the skull and shoulder.
A 17-year-old boy from Coodanup has been charged with two counts of assaulting a public officer and escaping lawful custody.
A 17-year-old boy from Dudley Park has been charged with assaulting a public officer and obstructing a public officer.
The pair will appear in the Mandurah Children's Court on June 19.
