Major upgrade to the Palm Beach boat ramps located off the Esplanade at Rockingham have been completed just in time for the busy summer period.
The City of Rockingham said the local boating community is set to benefit from a significant upgrade and maintenance to the Palm Beach boat ramps which re-opened this month.
Works were completed a month ahead of schedule and within the $250,000 budget.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the timing was perfect for the up and coming summer.
“These boat ramps experience heavy usage during the peak summer boating season and I am pleased works have been completed early for our recreational boat users.
“Several items required maintenance to avoid deterioration and potential damage.
"The City thanks residents for their patience while we completed the required works.”
Works completed at Eastern Ramp and Holding Jetty include rock armour and scour protection upgrades and concrete hardstand ramp crack repairs.
Western Ramp works involved upgrading rock armour and scour protection, boat ramp sand excavation and beach reinstatement works.
