The family of a 13-year-old boy who tragically died after being hit by two cars in Warnbro have paid tribute to the teen.

Nate Diprose-Stanaway stepped off a bus to cross Warnbro Sound Avenue around 8.30 on Friday, February 27 when he was struck in the southbound lanes.

Sadly, he suffered critical injuries and passed away at the scene.

Speaking to 10News, his mother Crystal Diprose said her son was a cheeky boy who was constantly on the go.

"Nate was a cherished, loved son, brother, nephew and grandson whose kindness, humour, smile, laugh, big blue eyes, and love, touched everyone knew him," she said.

Warnbro Sound Avenue, where Nate was struck, is a 70km/h zone and sits between two 40km/h school zones.

Nate's family is calling for the entire stretch to be reduced to 40km/h during school peak times.
