Two young women have been arrested after they allegedly escaped hotel quarantine in Perth.
The two women, aged 19 and 22, arrived in Western Australia on a flight from Adelaide around 8.20pm on Monday.
They were refused entry into the State because they had not made any application to enter and their sole purpose of travel was to holiday and visit family.
The pair were directed to a quarantine centre at the Novotel Hotel on Murray Street, Perth until return flights to South Australia could be arranged.
It is alleged at around 1.30am the women left the hotel and caught a taxi to a unit block in Coolbellup.
This morning police attended the unit block and the two women were taken into custody.
Two South Australian women, aged 19 and 22, have each been charged under the Emergency Management Act with ‘Failed to Comply with a Direction’ and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
