A man has been charged after leading police on a wild chase through Perth's northern suburbs overnight.
Police arrested the 31 year old Parmelia man when he crashed head on into a ute while driving the wrong way on Great Northern Highway.
They say they saw the stolen Ford Falcon doing burnouts in a northern suburbs car park and attempted to stop the vehicle, when the chase began.
Detectives say the car was stolen from Bibra Lake on Christmas Day and had two different licence plates attached to it.
The driver has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle and no authority to drive among other charges.
He will appear in court later today.
