A 38-year-old woman has been charged after the death of a newborn child over 20 years ago.
The woman who was 14-years-old at the time is believed to be the baby's mother.
The body of the baby boy was found by a cleaner in a toilet cubicle at a caravan park in Kambalda, Kalgoorlie in 1995.
It is believed he was just hours old.
Cold Case Homicide Squad detectives travelled to Victoria to charge the woman with one count of wilful murder.
Given the age of the woman at the time of the birth, an investigation has been commenced into the circumstances around the conception of the child.
The woman will be extradited from Victoria and is due to appear in the Perth Children's Court on Thursday.
