Unsteady Hand Art Group - Creative Workshops
Multiple dates from Thursday, January 21st, 2021 to Thursday, March 4th, 2021
On the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, the ‘Unsteady Hand’ Art group gets together for Creative Workshops, and they would like to welcome new members!
Formed by local Parkinson’s sufferer Sue Edge, the workshops provide an artistic outlet and companionship for sufferers of Parkinson’s disease. Since funding nationally has ceased for any activities for people with Parkinson’s, this group is a great support network for like minded people to get together.
The creative workshops provide a place to engage/re-engage using the power of art and creativity. Participation is open to anyone affected by Parkinson's, including people with Parkinson's, their care-partners, and family.
The workshops focus first and foremost on the art process - not the product, and no previous art experience is required.
Quality fine art materials, high pigment paints and pastels, acid-free paper and more are used to create vibrant and intense, jumping-off-the-page pieces of art.
A huge benefit is that it provides a safe and non-threatening environment for sufferers who may be embarrassed to socialist because they have a tremor.
Morning tea is provided, which is always full of talk and laughter and conversation where people can verbalize their concerns and seek advise from other sufferers.
So why not head down, learn some new skills, have a laugh, produce some wonderful results and participate in exhibitions!
