Join the Friends of Samphire Cover on Sunday, November 27th for their Walk & Talk event with volunteer snake relocator Wendy Jackson!
Wendy Jackson is a well-known and highly respected volunteer snake relocator. In her Walk & Talk, Wendy will identify the most prevalent snakes in our area, give advice on how to reduce the risk of snakes in and around our homes, and provide advice on snake bite first aid.
During the warmer months, Wendy regularly rescued between 60 and 70 snakes a season from building sites and commercial premises and from schools, homes and even a hospital ward. Almost all were dangerously venomous dugites, western browns and tiger snakes.
Setting off at 10 am, Wendy will follow the reserve’s All Abilities Trail for about an hour.
This is a free event and everyone welcome - children must be accompanied by an adult.
