Douglas McLarty has been elected unopposed as Shire of Murray president for a two-year term.
Mr McLarty was first elected to Council in October 2017 and has been in the position of Shire President since March 2025.
The remaining five vacant councillor positions will be decided on election day on October 18.
There are six nominees including Stewart Carter, Stuart Kirkham, Rob Cashman, Brett McGuinness, Prue George and Geoff Black.
