Applications are now open for eligible businesses in Perth and Peel that were directly impacted by COVID-19 restrictions from December 23, 2021 to January 4, 2022.
The Small Business Assistance Grant will assist small businesses and sole traders in the hospitality and events sectors that meet the eligibility criteria.
Businesses must be located in the Perth and Peel region and demonstrate a reduction in turnover of at least 30 per cent compared to the same 11-day period last year.
The final payment will be based upon the number of days that a business was impacted over the period.
Employing businesses may receive $1,130 for each impacted day, while sole traders may receive $400 for each impacted day.
"This financial package will provide targeted support to small businesses, including self-employed creative and event workers, directly impacted by the necessary public health measures put in place over the Christmas and New Year period," Small Business Minister Don Punch said.
"The festive season is traditionally a peak period for sectors including hospitality, entertainment, events and catering. The McGowan Government has created an assistance program to help those businesses that experienced cancellations and reductions in turnover while the necessary public health measures were in place."
Small businesses can check their eligibility and apply online at https://www.smallbusiness.wa.gov.au, with payments expected to begin by the end of January.
