WA Police have confirmed two people are now in custody over the brutal bashing of an elderly East Cannington man.
Emilio Lombardi remains in a serious condition in Royal Perth Hospital with head and facial injuries, after he was attacked outside of his Henry Street home.
The 84-year-old went outside to investigate a disturbance when he was allegedly set upon around 7pm on Sunday night.

Thanks to an overwhelming response from the community, Cannington Police were able to arrest both men.
A 28-year-old man was arrested in Kelmscott, and a 24-year-old man was arrested in Yanchep.
The two men remain in police custody and the investigation is ongoing.
