Buying local rock lobster from the back of a boat has been made even easier this festive season, with the launch of a new website and secure online ordering system.
The Western Rock Lobster Council has developed a website which gives customers access to a new ordering and payment platform.
It also connects people with fishers up and down the coast from Kalbarri to Port Coogee.
Fishers are allowed to sell up to 400 lobsters per landing during December and up to 200 back-of-boat lobsters in other months.
"Western Australians can be proud of our Western Rock Lobster fishery for its commitment to deliver quality seafood sustainably," Fisheries Minister Don Punch said.
"The McGowan Government supported the introduction of the back-of-boat sales. They've helped commercial fishers sell more than 160,000 lobsters since September 2020 and created a fun way to buy fresh lobsters for the festive season and throughout the year."
Details on back-of-boat sales is available from the lobster fishers' new website here.
