A white van mounted the footpath in Barcelona, running down pedestrians in the popular Las Ramblas district.

The woman, believed to be from New South Wales, is in a serious but stable condition in a Barcelona Hospital.
Two young men from Victoria have also been caught up in the incident and will seek their own medical treatment.

The driver of the van has not been arrested but authorities do have two men connected to the attack in custody.
Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said any Australians in the city need to play it safe and exercise common sense.
