Boundary Island Brewery has again won gold at the 2024 Australian International Beer Awards.

The AIBA is the world's largest annual beer competition, with the Erskine based brewery up against more than 400 across the world.

The gold medal win was for Boundary Island's Estuary Ale XPA.

According to judges, a gold medal signifies "a beer of exceptional quality, boasting accurate representation of style, faultlessness, remarkable balance, and undeniable drinkability".

Boundary Island entered eight of their beers into the competition with seven receiving awards including a silver for their Sandcastles West Coast Pilsner.

Head Brewer Dylan Kelly said there is no doubt that his Estuary Ale is one of the best.

“I’m a big fan our Estuary Ale as a beer with plenty of tropical hop flavours but at a sessionable alcohol level," he said.

"It was one of the beers I was very happy with when I brewed the first batch in late 2021, but I have continued to tweak the recipe to get it where it is now. I think it’s tasting better than ever at this point.”

Boundary Island Brewery Owner and General Manager Cynthia Graham said they couldn't be happier to bring home yet another gold.

"We're incredibly grateful to all our brewery patrons for their support and love for our beers," she said.

"Huge thanks to our amazing team here and we couldn't be prouder of Dylan.

"Not only is he an absolute legend to work beside, but he’s also such a talented brewer.

"Dylan has been with us from the very start and the passion, skill and hard work he puts into each brew is next level."

Several other local breweries including Thorny Devil, Whitelakes, Wedgetail, and King Road all came home with medals.

"We have an amazing local brewing industry here in the Mandurah region and it is fantastic to be a part of," Ms Graham said.
