Police are investigating after a senior Comanchero bikie was found with multiple gunshot wounds and burns outside Rockingham General Hospital.
The 51-year-old was discovered "collapsed" just before 10pm on Thursday and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Thompson said the man was well known to police and believe the incident was a targeted attack.
“We believe he was dropped off and just left there, which is a rather callous way to deal with someone with life-threatening injuries," Detective Senior Sergeant Thompson said.
"This is a targeted attack and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
"We will be monitoring outlaw motorcycle gangs hard over the next few days to ensure that the community is safe."
Detective Senior Sergeant Thompson said the man had burns consistent with someone trying to remove gang related tattoos.
“He's got burns to his legs, and we suspect that's a product of other people trying to remove his tattoos that are related to the Comancheros outlaw motorcycle gang.”
Gang Crime Squad detectives are continuing their investigation, including where the shooting happened.
