The Leda mother-of-two will be handed a sentence for murdering her husband.
Cara Lee Hall will today be sentenced for stabbing her husband at least 16 times to death.
The 39-year-old mother fatally stabbed her then 33-year-old husband Glenn Hall while he was asleep on the couch in their Leda home in December 2015.
The couple's 11-year-old and four-year-old sons also suffered knife wounds. Hall was found guilty of murder and attempting to kill one of her sons and causing bodily harm to the other.
During a trial in July last year Hall told the court her husband had been physically abusive towards the children and she acted in self-defence when he threatened to sell their sons into the sex trade.
The court was told how after the attack Hall called triple-0 and told the operator she had killed her husband because he was trying to kill their children.
Prosecutors said the 39-year-old had taken methamphetamine just over a week before the murder took place, and had smoked cannabis the night prior.
They also said Hall experienced auditory hallucinations the night of the attack and they were self-induced because she stopped taking her anti-depressants.
Hall was due to face sentencing in September 2017 but the hearing was adjourned after Justice Michael Corboy ordered the convicted to be assessed by a court-appointed psychiatrist.
More to come.
