The search is continuing for a man and a dinghy near Penguin Island after debris and the body of an 81-year-old man was found.
Boating debris was located in the Shoalwater Bay area around 5pm on Monday, before the elderly man’s body was discovered on a beach near Penguin Island.
Police believe the deceased man was aboard a 4.5 metre aluminium dinghy with another man aged in his 70s.
The search will continue today for the missing man and the boat, involving Volunteer Marine Rescue, Air support, SES and Water Police.
