Two people from Melbourne have been charged over an alleged attack in Mandurah's Smart Street Mall.
Police say the man and woman were refused entry to a nightclub in the area on Friday night before allegedly getting into a verbal and physical altercation with security and members of the public.
The pair were moved into the mall where the disturbance with other patrons continued.
It is further alleged, a woman ran up to the pair before the accused man punched her in the face causing her to fall to the ground.
Police allege when a man came to help the victim, the accused woman bit him on the jaw.
The female victim was taken to hospital for a cut to her lip.
A 21-year-old man from Melbourne has been charged with common assault, disorderly behaviour in a public place and disorderly behaviour in a police station.
A 24-year-old woman from Melbourne has been charged with disorderly behaviour in public and assault occasioning bodily harm.
They are due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
