The Mandurah Magic women have cruised into the NBL1 West semi-finals after a 45-point win over the East Perth Eagles at the weekend.

The Magic put on a show in front of their home crowd at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Saturday night, leading the entire game.

Claire Jacobs had a standout game with 35 points including seven three-pointers.

Coach Vlad Alava said his team stuck to their game plan and it worked.

"To keep East Perth down to 60 points, to beat them in a game that counts after losing two regular season games (against the Eagles) was a really terrific result for us," he said.

The Magic now face the Rockingham Flames in a semi-final showdown at Mike Barnett Sports Complex on Thursday, August 14.

MANDURAH MAGIC MEN

It's the end of the road for the Mandurah Magic men.

The reigning champions were defeated 109-95 at the hands of the Goldfields Giants in an elimination final in Kalgoorlie on Saturday night.

The Magic did well to even make the playoffs having lost Julian Pesava and Jahcoree Ealy to injury during the regular season.

Mandurah led the game for the first half but things went south in the fourth quarter and the home side eventually secured the 14-point victory.

Coach Mark Utley said while it was disappointing their season is over, he was proud of his team's performance.

"We went up to Kalgoorlie in front of a hostile crowd, the guys were really brave without Jahcoree and Julian and they have been all year," he said.

"We came out early and then just ran out of legs in the last half."

ROCKINGHAM FLAMES WOMEN

The Rockingham Flames women suffered a narrow two-point loss against the undefeated Cockburn Cougars at their home court in a qualifying final on Friday night.

It was neck-and-neck the entire game but it was the Cougars who came out on top in the dying minutes.

Marena Whittle finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and three assists for Rockingham while captain Alex Sharp provided another 21 points.

Coach Ryan Petrik said his side played well but just couldn't get the win.

"Our girls got as close to beating them (Cockburn) as what anyone has this year," he said.

"Losing sucks, but when you play Cockburn at Cockburn it's always the toughest place to beat them."

The Flames have one more chance at a second-straight NBL1 West championship when they take on Mandurah in Thursday's semi-final.

ROCKINGHAM FLAMES MEN

The Rockingham Flames men also lost their qualifying final to the Willetton Tigers by 19 points at Mike Barnett Sports Complex on Saturday night.

The Tigers were dominant throughout the first half before the Flames clawed their way back in the third.

The visitors were too strong in the end, securing the 121-102 win.

Rockingham star Isaac White scored 35 points, six rebounds and five assists.

The Flames return home on Thursday night for their semi-final clash against the East Perth Eagles.
