The $152 million redevelopment of Peel Health Campus has entered its next phase with a tender for forward works released.
The works, due to begin before the end of the year, will be carried out in two stages.
This will include extra public and staff car parking and traffic access, extension of the ring road, a new Central Energy Plant shell in preparation for Western Power upgrades and relocation of the existing Central Energy Plant.
The hospital, which returned to public hands last month, is set to undergo a major upgrade including a new mental health emergency centre, additional operating theatre, more than 60 additional inpatient beds and 15 palliative care hospice beds.
"It is exciting to see this vital project take another significant step forwards just three weeks after we celebrated PHC's return to public hands," Mandurah MLA David Templeman said.
The tender is available on Tenders WA and closes on October 8, 2024.
