Mandurah Police have charged a man following an investigation into an incident in Mandurah on Tuesday 27 August 2024.
It will be alleged, at about 12.30pm, a 32-year-old man was pushing a pram across a pedestrian crossing near the intersection of Mandurah and Pinjarra Roads, when a vehicle drove through the crossing.
The man became involved in a verbal altercation with the unknown driver, who had stopped and exited the vehicle a short distance from the crossing.
The 32-year-old then threatened the driver with a large knife or machete before the driver left the scene.
Following inquiries, including assistance from members of the public and media, the 32-year-old man attended Mandurah Police Station yesterday, Monday 2 September 2024, and was arrested.
The Mandurah man was charged with being armed in a way that may cause fear.
He is due to appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday 27 September 2024.
