Major Crash investigators are looking into a single vehicle crash, which killed a 31-year-old man.
Just after 3pm yesterday police officers on patrol on Great Eastern Highway near Wundowie spotted a blue Holden Utility driving at least 30km/hr over the 110 speed limit.
The officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver ignored the request and continued driving at a high speed, turning off onto Chedaring Road, with the officers in tow.
A short time later the patrol officers located the vehicle, which had crashed, on Chedaring Road.
Police said the ute appeared to have veered off the road, slamming into a tree, before it rolled over with no other vehicles involved in the crash.
The 31-year-old male driver was provided emergency first aid by the attending police officers and St John Ambulance personnel, but was unable to be revived and died from his injuries at the scene.
Major Crash Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding this crash, or who saw the Holden Utility prior to the crash, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
