The City of Rockingham's Ranger Services have been recognised as the best in Western Australia.
The WA Rangers Association presented the award to one Local Government team based on their excellent service provided to the community.
Rockingham fended off competition from a number of finalists including Collie, Kwinana, Canning and Cambridge to win the prestigious Rangers Team of the Year Award for Western Australia.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels congratulated the City’s Ranger Services on their success.
“The City’s Ranger Services have a tough and often thankless job - they shoulder responsibility for enforcing a wide range of laws in our community that relate to parking, dogs, cats, beaches and reserves,” Mayor Sammels said.
“Some of the dog attack investigations they have dealt with over the last few years have been quite horrific and there have been many prosecutions undertaken by the team, it is quite a stressful job, so to receive the award from the WA Rangers Association is a testament to the outstanding effort all team members have put in."
