A 27-year-old woman has been charged after four animals in poor health were discovered in her vehicle.
A North Coogee woman has been refused bail and will appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court on Wednesday after being arresting the woman on Tuesday evening.
Police said just after midday on Monday officers were notified of a Holden Barina sedan driving on a wheel rim in Spearwood.
The vehicle was later stopped in Beeliar where officers allegedly discovered two rabbits and two guinea pigs inside the car. An inspector from the RSPCA attended the scene and seized all four animals, with concerns they were all in very poor health.
Just before 10pm on Tuesday night officers were notified of the same vehicle driving on a wheel rim in Beeliar and later arrested the woman in Spearwood.
She's now been charged with breach of Police order, stealing, dangerous driving, no authority to drive and disorderly behaviour.
The 27-year-old is also facing charges relating to the condition in which the vehicle was driven.
The rescued animals are undergoing veterinary care in the custody of the RSPCA and inspectors are conducting enquiries into their treatment.
