Two people have been rescued after their boat sunk near Carnac Island off Coogee.
UPDATE: Tragically a man in his 60s has died as a result of the incident.
It is understood an EPIRB was activated around 10am on Tuesday after the pair's boat capsized. Two men were pulled from the water by Water Police. One man in his 60s has died, the other man in his 30s was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
