A Baldivis man has come forward to claim his Saturday Lotto prize of nearly $1 million.
The man, aged in his 60s, said he purchases a Saturday Lotto Slikpik 18 from The Lucky Charm Baldivis every week, a tradition that he’s stuck to for 17 years.
“It’s my Tuesday ritual – I buy a paper and my ticket, then get coffee and a croissant,” he said.
“I always like to buy a Lotto ticket because the money goes to the community.”
When asked how he was feeling, the ticket holder said he was dumbstruck.
“Is this really real?”
The winner plans to split his prize three ways, sharing with his two children.
Lotterywest spokesperson Emma Rogers said WA players have a chance to join the winners’ list again next Tuesday, in OZ Lotto’s $70 million jackpot.
“This is the first time OZ Lotto has jackpotted to $70 million in four years,” she said.
“So far in this OZ Lotto jackpot run, around $9.2 million has been raised for Lotterywest's grants program.”
