The man allegedly used scissors to threaten police.
Detectives have charged a 48-year-old man following an incident in East Perth on Tuesday morning.
Authorities said officers approached the man on East Brook Terrace around 11.45am to speak to him. The man then became aggressive and threatened officers with a pair of scissors before they restrained him.
The man from Dunsborough has been charged with assault public officer, unlawful act or omission with intent to harm did an act which the life, safety of health of a person was endangered.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
