Police first stopped the man, who was driving a Hyundai Elantra, on North Lake Road in Cockburn Central around 12.50am on Sunday in relation to a speeding offence.
He was taken to Cockburn Police Station where he allegedly provided a positive breath test.
The man was served a disqualification notice and released to walk home which was nearby.
A short time later, police returned to their patrol duties and noticed the same vehicle being driven south along Midgegooroo Avenue.
Officers stopped the vehicle and found the same man again driving.
He was then conveyed to Cockburn Police Station and allegedly again provided a positive breath test.
He was issued with a second disqualification notice and his vehicle was also impounded.
The 26-year-old man from Cockburn Central will be summonsed for Driving under the Influence, No Authority to Drive and Excess 0.08 and will appear in court at a later date.
