A first class constable from Mandurah Police Station has received a commendation for saving a stab victim’s life.
Richard Barnes, who was a constable for Dorset Police in the UK at the time, assisted a male person who was stabbed and bleeding heavily in November 2015.
The victim was also unconscious.
“If not for the first aid provided by Constable Barnes and his partner the victim might well have died,” a WA Police spokesperson said.
The commendation was presented by Deputy Commissioner Stephen Brown on Thursday.
