A woman has suffered serious injuries after she was mauled by her two pet Rottweilers in Perth's south.
Police were called to the woman's home in Success around 4.35pm on Saturday after receiving reports she was being attacked.
When they arrived, they saw the two dogs mauling the woman inside the home.
"Due to the extremely aggressive nature of the dogs, and the ongoing risk to human life, a police firearm was discharged to stop the attack," a WA Police spokesperson said.
One of the dogs suffered serious injuries and the other was able to be secured int he garage until City of Cockburn rangers arrived.
St John Ambulance conveyed the 31-year-old woman to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of serious dog bite wounds to her arms and legs.
Rangers seized both dogs and the investigation is now with the City of Cockburn.
