Rain has fallen in the Perth, Rockingham and Mandurah areas for the first time in 38 days.
After having the fifth longest dry spell for Autumn, rain has been recorded in the gauge following some showers overnight.
The gauge at Garden Island in Rockingham recorded the most rainfall with 14.2mm, while Perth had 7.8mm and Mandurah just 1.8mm, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
A road safety alert is in place, with roads expected to be very slippery.
Main Roads has advised motorists to turn their headlights on, ensure a safe braking distance and allow extra travel time.
